This blog focuses on teaching, learning, and journalism education — with a focus on higher education (ie at university level). These themes reflect my work as a journalism lecturer at City University in London, and my research interests in these areas, including the scholarship of teaching and learning of journalism.
No doubt some of my posts will also cover other related things that I find of interest!
I am Jonathan Hewett, Associate Director of Newspaper Journalism in the Department of Journalism at City University, London. I run a postgraduate programme there (MA/Diploma).
Previously I worked as a journalist, further education tutor, policy analyst, and (even longer ago) as a teacher of English to reluctant pupils in Germany. After moving into higher education, I completed an Academic Practice diploma, and my research interests include assessment, active learning, quality, and student support.
